Staring out the window of her and Jasper's room, Alice couldn't help but sigh quietly to herself. Something wasn't right, but she couldn't figure out what it was. Her visions were unusually cloudy today, and Alice could barely make out who it was each time she did have a vision. Even when she focused on a particular family member, and knew that it was that particular person she was focusing on, she could barely make out their form, let alone their future. She hadn't spoken to Jasper about this, but knew that it would probably be in her best interest to tell him. After all, the several times he had come to check on her before going outside to wrestle with Emmett and Edward, perhaps Jacob as well, she had put on a false smile and acted as happy as she could. However, Jasper being able to read her emotions, had always asked what was wrong, and each time Alice answered with a shake of her head and a near silent "nothing". She knew that he knew something was bothering her, but Alice wasn't about to let it ruin his day as well. After all, what kind of mate would she be if she let something like that happen?
Turning quietly on her heels, Alice turned around to face the entire room, her eyes meeting her reflection in the long mirror. She hardly looked like herself today. Her hair was flat and lifeless, her normally bright and joyful topaz eyes now looking extremely dull. The dark purple circles under her eyes seemed even more noticeable now than they ever had before, not even when she was a newborn had they been so noticeable. The dusty rose colored polo and creamy white tank top clung to her body, as did her khaki pants, making her look like a toothpick rather than the small pixie she was known for appearing as. Overall, Alice looked lacking of everything, and anybody who saw her could mistake her for somebody else. She just wasn't as happy, as peppy as she usually was. What was it that she couldn't see? And just who did it deal with? Shaking her head to erase these thoughts and not let them eat her alive any more than they already had, Alice walked slowly across her and Jasper's room, opening the door without much effort, and exiting without a single sound made. Walking down the stairs, Alice walked absently around the room, letting her conscience choose where to lead her, and not paying attention to it's decision.
Taking note of where she stopped, Alice merely nodded once to herself as she stared at the wooden door of the Cullen library. Entering slowly and still without a sound, she crossed the room without much effort, making her ways towards the chairs without grabbing a book. Sitting down silently in one of the chairs in the massive Cullen library, Alice let her form slouch into it's comfort, resting an elbow gently on the chair as a means to support her head. Closing her eyes gently and letting the silence in the room overtake her, Alice let her mind flicker from thought to thought, never staying on one particular thought for more than a few moments. She tried to avoid the questions that rattled her brain, along with keeping clear of her very un-Alice like personality that was currently present. She was dying to know what was wrong, but tried not to focus on it, knowing that it wouldn't help her mood much. If she could barely see somebody close to her when focusing extremely hard on them, what were the chances that her mind would allow her access to seeing what was out of place, and letting her know just would happen as a result of it? Those chances were extremely slim, that was it.

----------------- Carlisle paced around the house. It was too quiet for him, far too quiet. No teenagers running around, no play fighting, nothing. The house was already impeccably clean, down to Esme of course, though Carlisle had done he share as well having little to do tended to give him a sudden passion for cleaning. Though for once, Carlisle did not care if someone arrived home to mess the place up again, after all there was only so much cleaning one could do before things were too clean and the placed had that over powering smell of bleach.
Carlisle had stopped by the local store before he got back from work. He picked up some fruit and something that said burgers, though Carlisle did not like the look of them. Though he would like to actually taste food, he knew that unless he wanted to spend time being ill, there was little point to it. Sadly though the stacked the fridge full and then opened a few cans of soda, and tipped them down the drain. He cleaned that up as he crushed the cans a little, and threw them in the bin. That lived in look for the house he though.
Finally realizing that there was nothing for him to do, Carlisle sat down on the sofa and turned the TV on. Soaps, soaps, and more soaps; all nothing. He finally resorted to a DIY channel. Though he knew better than to even attempt any renovations on the house without Esme agreeing to them first, there might be something worth seeing on there he thought. It didn’t take him long to get bored of watching the DIY channel and upon doing so, he pushed himself off of the couch. He heaved deeply and pushed his hands into his pockets. Carlisle gazed down at his shoes and bit his lip out of habit, realising he was still wearing his work uniform. Out of absolute boredom, he flitted up to his and Esme’s room and removed his shirt quickly before replacing it with a plain white t-shirt and a black jumper; quickly replacing his trousers with some loose fitting jeans.
Carlisle slumped down onto the bed and ran a rough hand through his snow blonde hair, trying to think of something to do that didn’t require the presence of his love; or anyone else for that matter. The only other person in the house that he knew of was Alice and he wasn’t sure whether she’d like to do anything or not. He loved her dearly and he’d do anything to protect her, help her... anything. But when it came to doing stuff with her, it usually resulted in Baseball. Though that was more of a team sport. “Maybe I should spend some more quality time with her,” he said to himself, just to break the silence that was beginning to get to him. Carlisle shrugged, to himself once again, before getting up and flitting to Alice’s and Jasper’s room; he knocked gently. No answer. Obviously not there he thought to himself. He proceeded to do this with the other rooms that weren’t private and in the end he found her in the Cullen Library. He smiled gently and opened the door quietly, before slipping inside. He stood by the door, watching Alice sit there with her eyes closed in a peaceful posture. Carlisle didn’t want to disturb her and he wasn’t going to; he just stood there. ----------------- KICKING IT WITH !? Alice POST STATUS !? Complete WORDS !? 576 MUSIC !? Down – Jay Sean feat. Still sitting there as peacefully as she possibly could, thoughts of Jasper now occupying her mind, Alice knew that the silence was getting to her, just the same with her poor quality visions and that one thing that she just couldn't possibly see, not even if her life depended upon seeing it. Alice let her mind become filled with the happiest thoughts of her and Jasper she could muster, trying to keep her own optimism alive and thriving. However, it was fading slightly today, which was very abnormal for Alice. Even the first time she came across Jasper, definitely the happiest day of Alice's life, the happiest memory she ever had, wasn't enough to keep her optimism alive. Was today just not her day or was it something else? Was it her not being able to see the future that had taken such a large stab at her optimism, or was there more to it? Perhaps it was that one thing she couldn't figure out, that was bothering her so vibrantly and all but eating her alive, that was also eating away at her optimism and usual emotions. Whatever it was, Alice wanted to know, just so she could figure out what it was and be back to her normal self once again. How nice would that be? Extremely, that was the only answer Alice had for it.
Leaning into the chair even further, Alice tried to clear her mind once again. Of course, it certainly wasn't something that was very easy for Alice to do. It was like a chain was tying it down into her mind and refusing to let go. She needed something that would take her mind off of everything that was practically cursing it, but nothing came to mind. What could possible be done to take her mind away from those cursed thoughts that refused to leave? Maybe talking to somebody would help. But who? Alice certainly didn't want to ruin anybody's day, especially Jasper's. No, she'd much rather leave them be, allow them all to enjoy their day like they were supposed to. Eternity to live or not it didn't matter, Alice wasn't about to let anybody receive a ruined day because she was having a bad one. Whatever was causing her bad day would be her business and hers alone. She wasn't going to let them indulge themselves in it if they didn't want to, and even if they did Alice still probably wouldn't tell them, all because it could ruin a perfectly good day. Alice wasn't going to let herself be the cause for a bad day, family, friend, or stranger.
Hearing somebody enter the library, Alice waited as patiently as she could for them to say something, but when not a single word was said from the other person, Alice opened her eyes to see who it was, knowing her visions wouldn't show her who was standing before her. Putting on the best smile she possibly could when she noticed it was Carlisle, Alice found perhaps a shred of hope in her that things could take a turn for the better. Carlisle could help her, couldn't he? Help her take her mind off of what was bothering her. Maybe he could also help her with the poor quality visions she kept receiving as well. Offer her some piece of advice that would give her a little bit more confidence that her visions would eventually return and be much clearer than they presently were. "Hey Carlisle," Alice greeted in the most cheerful voice she could muster. It wasn't exactly as chipper as normally, but it was a start if anything. "Is something wrong? You're usually spending every chance you get with Esme." If something was bothering Carlisle then Alice would be more than willing to talk about what was bothering him, rather than discussing what was bothering her. It would be a lot more comfortable for her, at least.

----------------- Carlisle just remained sitting there, a gentle smile plastered on his lips. He also remained quiet, watching his daughter remain almost motionless. He enjoyed guessing what people were thinking at times, though only when he was bored out of his mind; exactly like he was today. He had no idea where anyone was; including Esme. A small sigh escaped his lips before rubbing the back of his snow blonde hair. The one topic his mind kept returning to over and over and over again. Esme; his love, his life and his soul. That was probably being dramatic, but what did Carlisle care? It’s how he felt about her. At work, at home, out hunting; she was on his mind nearly every minute. Usually, it was the same memory; the one of their wedding day. Well, specifically, Esme’s face as she approached. How beautiful and happy she looked. It always brought a smile to Carlisle’s face. He bit the inside of his lip out of habit before leaning against the wall and closing his eyes, wondering where Esme was.
It didn’t take long for Carlisle to open his eyes. The only time he usually closed his eyes was when he was lying in bed and trying to make time pass faster. It never usually worked and it was times like that that he wished he could sleep. A small smile once again crowned his lips as he saw Alice opened her eyes. Carlisle still didn’t say anything as she smiled; or at least gave a half hearted attempt at one. Carlisle didn’t greet Alice just yet; he went over to the seats she was lying on; trying to get comfortable before sitting down with his usual posture; one leg resting on the other. “Hey Alice,” He said with his usual, compassionate tone; he noticed Alice was as cheerful as she usually was and he was tempted to ask what was wrong but if she wanted him to know, she’d tell him in her own time. Carlisle listened to her question before shaking his head. “No, nothing’s wrong. Esme’s gone out somewhere... and where that is, I’m not entirely sure,” Carlisle mused, licking the edge of his teeth with thought. “And what about with you, Alice? Anything bothering you lately?” He asked this mainly out of concern for his daughter. ----------------- KICKING IT WITH !? Alice POST STATUS !? Complete WORDS !? 388 MUSIC !? Down – Jay Sean feat. Smiling inwardly to herself, Alice couldn't help but hope that this would be exactly what she needed. Spending some time with the Cullen Family leader and father figure, Carlisle. Though close, they rarely spent any true quality time together, and this could be the very chance they needed to appear even more like the father-daughter pair they needed to be. They all needed to be like a family, and that included strong bonds with the parents of the family, bonds that existed between fathers and daughters, mothers and sons. Though they still had a close, tight bond, it wasn't nearly as tight as it could've been. Should've been. This was the perfect opportunity to get to really know each other, to talk and fully get to know each other. Alice wasn't about to let this opportunity pass, no matter how upset a mood she was in. She was going to take full control of the situation, not let a soul moment go wasted on pointless discussion. No, Alice and Carlisle were going to talk, and they were going to have a nice, heartfelt discussion. At least, that was what Alice wanted more than anything. Besides, it would help her mind get away from those troublesome topics that kept rattling her brain.
Following Carlisle with her topaz eyes as he crossed the room and sat in a chair near her, Alice silently hoped that something was extremely wrong and that she would be able to get what was bothering her off of her mind. However, Alice had to sigh nearly silently when Carlisle said that nothing was wrong. So much for getting her mind off of things. "I'm sure Esme is out getting some new decoration or another for the house. That sounds a lot like Esme, after all," Alice said with a smile, though left off the part of not being able to guarantee that was where Esme was. Stupid cloudy visions... Alice thought silently to herself, upset that she couldn't help Carlisle further and tell him for certain that was where Esme was, along with telling him when she would be back in his arms. She wished he did, but it wouldn't work. Still, Alice shut her eyes for a moment, focusing on Esme, only frowning when her visions only showed her a cloudy figure in an even cloudier environment. Why couldn't Alice see anything today? It was all but driving her insane! And it was doing a magnificent job at that!
Alice didn't dare comment right off the back if something was bothering her. She couldn't lie to Carlisle, but telling him what was bothering sounded just as bad. Weighing out her options in her head for a few minutes, Alice sighed when she finally came to her conclusion. She had to tell Carlisle what was bothering her, had to be honest and straight forward with him. After all, hadn't she been confident earlier that he would be able to help her? Offer her some piece of advice that could redeem her usually happy mood. "I guess," Alice answered slowly with a shrug, not sure if she should really tell Carlisle. After all, he could've been just asking her in turn because she had asked him to begin with. He could just be asking out of the common courtesy that Carlisle always had piled high in his soul. If anybody had a soul in their family, it was Carlisle and Esme, undeniably. Pursing her lips, Alice didn't bother to continue with her statement. She would leave it with that simple answer, and if Carlisle truly was wanting to know what bothering her, she would continue. But she didn't want to bore him to death by telling him something he had no interest in. Even if suspecting something was out of place and cloudy visions were a bit scary.
What would Carlisle say to Alice not being able to see? What would he say about her commenting that something wasn't right, that something was out of place? Would he think she was insane, just as her own father had when she was human? Alice felt a large surge of emotions come flying to her, a nice, painful wave of something like shock traveling up and down her spine in swift movements. Not being able to really hide the quick flow of emotions through her system, Alice felt entire body shiver from the though, a long, noticeable shiver. Inwardly Alice was cringing, and it took every little ounce of effort that she had for Alice to not get up that exact moment and retreat back to her and Jasper's room to bury herself in the comfort of their bed. Lock the door, the windows, maybe put something over the windows to cover it and make the room an inky, pitch black. How nice would that be? Though it wouldn't be proper, Alice wanted to. Thoughts of her new family thinking she was a nutcase were too much for her. Having one family put her in an asylum was enough. Alice certainly wouldn't be able to handle it if her new family, the people she cared about more than she ever had her human family, abandoned her for insanity. They would never do that, they're not like that, Alice silently told herself, but that didn't help much. She was far too worried for calmness to wash over her. Not even Jasper could help her.

----------------- Carlisle rubbed his temples gently whilst watching Alice with a gentle gaze. Unlike the boys, Carlisle never really spent that much time with Alice, Rosalie or Bella unless they were hunting together. The main reason for that was that Carlisle had no idea what to do with them. Other than hunting, he just couldn’t think of anything. Alice and Rosalie were either shopping – which he loathed with a passion – or with their other halves. Admittedly, Carlisle spent the majority of his time with Esme but on the odd occasion, he did join in with Edward, Emmett and Jasper when they began wrestling. To say that, he usually lost. The only time he ever spent any time with Alice and Rosalie was when they were all in the living-room as a family or having a family meeting in the dining room and the last time they’d had one of them was when they were all discussing whether or not Bella should be turned into a vampire... six years ago. Well, there was the almost fight over Renesmee, but he wasn’t going to class that as ‘family time.’ He, like many others, chose to forget it; he knew what the outcome would have been like if they’d fought. He wouldn’t be here with the people he loved; the people he loved wouldn’t be around him either. It would have ended in turmoil either side. He couldn’t help but sigh when he thought of this, not that he meant to sigh. Whatever time he did spend with Alice, he enjoyed. She was usually bubbly and happy; making everyone around her happy. Well, at least that’s what Carlisle thought and how he felt around Alice... and Jasper for that matter but that was an entirely different topic.
Carlisle frowned when he heard Alice sigh, but he didn’t question it. As he thought before, if she had something she wished to tell him, then she would. He wasn’t going to force it out of her although it would bring them closer together as father and daughter. Carlisle bit into the skin of his lip and pulled it back with his teeth gently before running his tongue over his lip, leaving a trail of venom behind. Carlisle nodded with a gentle smile as she mentioned Esme being out to fetch some new decorations. “Probably. In fact, I think there’s a higher chance of it than being out shopping... though she does tend to do that quite a bit too,” he mused, leaning back and closing his eyes. He needed to feed sooner rather than later, but he could put it off for another day or two, considering he wasn’t at work for the next three days and that in itself drove him up the wall. Carlisle hummed gently to himself before opening his eyes and looking to Alice with a gentle gaze. “You don’t happen to know when she’ll be back do you?” Carlisle asked with a slightly raised smile and a glint in his eyes. He hadn’t spent the night with Esme in awhile and he’d decided he more than likely needed to; he missed spending time with her; more – if it was possible – than he missed being at work.
Carlisle couldn’t help but let his mind wonder to Esme; wonder what she was doing, where she was. He’d love to just turn up at her side and wrap his arms around her, holding her close to his chest and he rocked her back and forth gently in a slow dance style. He smiled as he thought about it; Esme cheered up more than anything else possibly could and he loved that about her. He loved that about his family; without them, he would have drunk from a human years and years ago. He shuddered at the thought of drinking human blood; it repulsed him and if possible, made him want to throw up. Carlisle smiled as Alice replied before realising she hadn’t said what she said in a good mood or anything very happy in particular. However, he regained his compassionate face and smiled gently, though obviously in a concerned matter. “Do you want to tell me what’s wrong?” Carlisle asked in a rather concerned tone. He went back to biting his lip out of habit. “It’s not anything to do with Jasper is it?” He added on with a frown. Usually if it was Jasper, then he would have usually heard about it from Edward or Emmett by now, so he didn’t believe it was that. Obviously, he couldn’t tell for sure but he thought he’d get it out the way, just in case it was. Carlisle leant forward in his chair slightly like an investigator would when questioning someone. Carlisle frowned slightly when she shuddered slightly. Carlisle bit his lip even harsher, knowing that if he was human, blood would be pouring out of his lip at that very moment. “Whatever it is, you’re going to be fine,” he said with a reassuring smile. ----------------- KICKING IT WITH !? Alice POST STATUS !? Complete WORDS !? 832 MUSIC !? Gossip – Youmeat6 NOTES !? Getting better =P! Time with Carlisle will help. After all, it isn't every day you spend quality time with him. He can help you, Alice told herself silently, hoping that this silent statement would help her work up the courage to confide in Carlisle just what was disturbing her. When had her enthusiasm, her confidence that Carlisle would be able to help gone missing? Where had her mind taken an incorrect turn, and those acts of confidence taken a separate way? Alice was confident that Carlisle would be able to help her, but the more she thought it over, the more troubled she became with it. What if he couldn't help her because the condition was so new and fresh in all of their lives? What if he would rather not help her because the circumstances were so complex and hard to comprehend? Don't think that, you're being foolish, Alice informed herself mentally, nearly scolding it for thoughts that Carlisle wouldn't be able to help her. They were 'what if' thoughts, after all, and could easily be proven wrong. Besides, Carlisle was someone for Alice to talk to when something was troubling her. Still, she couldn't help but wonder.
Not immediately commenting on when Esme would be back, Alice knew it was pointless trying to act like she was searching the future for the answer. That would be lyiing to Carlisle in a sense, but more importantly it would be lying to herself. Along with torturing herself further. If she did try to see the future the only thing she would catch a glimpse of was a whole lot of blur. She had tried it only a thousand times already today, on every single person she knew, though more importantly the ones she held closest. Each and everytime she tried to see the future the only thing that came to her mind was a nice, large cloud of fog covering the actions and people involved. Bothering trying to see the time when Esme would be home would be the equivilent of a human going into space without a space suit. Impossible. Then there was the tormenting that would be involved. Her mind would be occupied for hours tormenting her of her failure to see one little thing. One little detail that usually didn't take much effort. Not opening her mouth to speak, Alice merely shook her head slowly. She detested not being able to see clearly so much.
Looking at Carlisle, Alice had to half smile at the fact that he really did sound concerned. That he wanted to know what was bothering her. Maybe he could help her through it after all. However, Alice’s face fell, her body lurching itself into a recoil, internally and externally at the same time, at the question if it had anything to do with Jasper. "No of course not! Well… I guess kind of. But I’m not mad at him and he’s not mad at me. What I mean is, it kind of concerns us all," Alice said, her voice a bit more rushed than desired. Taking in a deep breath, Alice tried to calm herself, wishing Jasper was there to help calm her perfectly. He, after all, was the one who could mess with one’s emotions. "My visions have been really cloudy lately. I don’t mean like kind of cloudy, I mean really cloudy. I can try and focus on one particular persons future, but even then I’m having trouble just making that person out, let alone the actions around them! I’ve tried focusing on everybody, Edward, Rosalie, Bella, you, even me. Everyone! But even when I focus on somebody really hard I can still barely make them out. Even Jasper I can barely see—and I know every little detail about him!" Not being able to see Jasper was something hard for Alice to accept. She never had cloudy visions of him.
Alice knew she had yet to inform Carlisle of her suspicions something was out of place, but she didn't comment on it. Not yet. One thing at a time. Carlisle might be able to help, you don't want to overload him with information, Alice told herself mentally. Flickering her topaz eyes over to Carlisle when he reassured her it would be fine, Alice pursued her lips once more. How could he be sure of that? True, her unknown suspicions and her cloudy visions were bothering her and she hoped they would be fine, the thoughts of asylums were also fresh in her mind now. "You would never... abandon me, would you?" Alice asked after a moment, once more flinching after it was out in the open. Her tiny hands clutched the ends of the chairs arms, her body rigid as stone. Looking down and in the opposite direction of Carlisle, Alice didn't dare look in his direction. One more thing Alice was afraid to see his reaction towards. This action--this mere question--had certainly added to her biological families insisitnce that she was insane.
