Ok, so I know how many of you are struggling with plot ideas out there and just need a little extra boost to get your muse working again. I completely understand how you feel, there was a period in time where I couldn't think of anything at all to write! Only apparently the writers block was lifted when I was inspired after reading Dark Secrets 1; Don't Tell, by Elizabeth Chandler. It's a great book and I recommend it to anyone. Anyways back to the sub-plot. It was just an idea so don't get mad at me if you don't like it, I just wanted to put it out there for people to see and comment on. It's like a action packed, mystery, romance plot. Alrighty now that the boring stuff is over and out of the way heres the plot;
(also just to let everyone I will be incorporating alice's shape-shifter life into this plot!!!)
It's a secret, she said
Alice Drew, a small, shy and terrified sixteen year old girl, lives with her father, older brother and middle sister. But to her she houses among a strong father, loving brother and an injustice murderer. It seems like all her life she's been black mailed and living around a killer. Terrified of what might happen if she was to tell. So scared of the consequences, Alice began tending to stay away from others. Even her pack was left and blurred out of her mind. She didn't even feel safe amongst her family. Timid and shy as she made around her normal life with the murderer breathing down her neck.
This had been going on as far back as she could recall, only there was a time, way back, before the death of her mother. I'll take you back to that day, show you what really happened, tell you there was more to Lacey Drew's death than just a slip and fall. I'll take you back through Alice's memories and have you relive her nightmare...
Don’t tell…
Now as a sixteen year old Alice is still living in the same house as the killer. And everyone, even her father, who had loved his wife as much as Alice did, has given up on her death and began the process of getting past it.
What happened the night of her mother’s death, after Alice was left she staggered blindly up to the house, her brother found her and brought her inside. Soon the next day, her father, who had gone down to the dock to retrieve the old boat, discovered the body. Police arrived and wanted to begin their investigation, but Skye who had taken over matters, due to the fact that her father was still in shock, shooed them away and prevented them from doing a full investigation. She convinced them that her mother had tripped, hit her head on one of the poles, was knocked out, fell into the water and drowned. Or at least that was what it read in the local papers.
She still is confused thought, Skye hadn’t exactly loved their mother as the rest of her family had, but she still had no reason to kill her. Being so young at the time no one would even expect that she was capable of murder. Their mother and Skye never really had that mother daughter relationship and there had always been tension in the atmosphere around them. Apart from those simple flaws, Skye never, to Alice's knowledge had any reason to want their mother dead so badly she would do it herself.
Now a days, Alice is still skittish and even now, won’t go anywhere near the pier where her mother died or swim in water. But life moves on and there’s no point in lingering on the past, quotes her brother and Alice, who is trying her hardest to forget is having the most trouble in the family.
It’s been many years now since her mother’s death and Alice is literally running from the past, which is not making much attempt to catch up with her. She attends La Push high school and has made some new tentative friends. Appart from school she's made some interesting vampire encounters, which wined up being some unlikely friends. A new romance begins and Alice almost feels normal. Except for the being a werewolf part. It was only her brother and herself that were shape-shifters, the trait gassed over Skye. Maybe that was just the universe doing her a favor.
Just things are starting to settle down, strange events begin to occur. Alice begins hearing things, whispers in the night, calling her. Her possessions have started to tie themselves into impossible knots. Supernatural things happen and the past is catching up with her.
At first Alice thinks it’s just someone playing a prank, or Skye messing with her. Threatening her indirectly. But it’s hard to hide something that written all over and her new found friends and crush are beginning to worry. But everything changes the day she visits her mother's grave, discovering a disturbing tomb stone and receiving a note, slipped through the cracked window of her car and all it reads is; "I know the truth."
Alice wonders if this person is trying to help her bring her mother’s death justice, or if it’s just another prank. Her friends are pressing her more and more about her abnormal behavior and to top it all off her sister seems to have a thing for their older brother!
Will she ever reveal the killer? Confess the secret to her friends? Stop this forming romance between her brother and sister? Join to find out, but it’s a secret. So don’t tell…
