PERSONALITY:
Rayne is mostly a happy person, she is kind and caring to everyone, but as of late she has become more and more distant to everyone. She can be rather insecure at times and as of late choses to kept to herself, her mother was murdered less then a week ago, and her step father committed suicide the same day. With no reason to stay in her home town and every reason to leave, what with everyone knowing what had happened and offering support, never leaving her to her grief. She refuses to let the sadness beat her when she is in public but sometimes late at night or when she is visiting her mothers grave these feelings overwhelm her.
Before all this happened she was a very easy going sort of a person who was always up for a laugh, who knows maybe one day she can be that person again but for now? Well the depression over her mothers death and stepfathers suicide cloud her senses these days. She is adamant that she will never get into a relationship as she refuses to get to a point that if someone dies she would have to follow them into the next life. Nope its easier if you just don’t let people get that close to your heart.

HISTORY:
Just Us
Rayne was born in the small country town of Geraldton in Western Australia, her biological father was never around as far as she knew he took off the day he found out her mother was pregnant with her, all her mother had told her about him was that he had wanted them to get a termination, but her mother had refused. For the first 5 years of her life Rayne was raised by her mother, a single parent struggling to pay the bills, her mother was a nurse and while the job had its rewards it wasn’t the best paying job in the world, especially in a small town. Though Rayne never felt like she missed out on anything in those first years of her life, sure she didn’t have all the new toys the other kids had, but she was a happy sort of a kid that loved to get down and dirty in the mud.
The Step Devil
When Rayne was 6 her mum started dating, and there were a few dropkicks, even Rayne as a 6yr old could see that. Then along came Steven, now he wasn’t someone that Rayne took to right away, on the contrary she saw him as a threat. Someone who had come into their lives to destroy it, she could see her mother was being brainwashed by this handsome stranger and she felt more like an outsider then she ever had in her entire life. She needn’t have worried though, he wasn’t that bad in the end, he treated her like his own daughter, and when he and her mother got married they had her last name, which had been that of her mothers maiden name changed as well.
Adjusting
When Rayne was 7 and a half they moved as a family to an even smaller town called Gingin, and although it didn’t have much in the way of cinema’s and shops it was Rayne’s playground, they lived on a 10acre block and she loved it to pieces, Steven brought her motorbikes and old cars which he taught her to ride and drive, they made bush tracks and tore it up. It was at the age of 9 that she got her first horse, Jaya, and her parents helped her look after her beautiful bay quarter horse mare. They paid for riding lessons, and even though she still loved the motorbikes it was riding her horse that gave her the most pleasure.
The Mugging
Rayne’s life was going great, she had just turned 17, had great parents, and some amazing friends, but everything was about to change. What should have been a casual shopping trip turned into her own personal hell. She and her mother had driven to the nearest big shopping centre to do their shopping for the week. Usually Rayne would not have come on these routine grocery shops, but her mother had promised her she could pick out a new outfit for her friends party the following weekend. But they never got into the shops, as they got out of the car they were attacked, the guy had looked totally normal, just a normal shopper like everyone else. That was until he struck her mother and stole her purse, shoving Rayne painfully into the open door of the car, but he wasn’t happy with that, he had beat her mother until she lay motionless, before he ran off. Rayne had struggled over to her mother her side bruised up pretty bad and found a weak pulse, but by the time the ambulance arrived and took her away, she was gone.
The police took her home to Gingin where her step father was shocked to see her so soon, she had watched his face turn from shock to horror to tortured as the police told him what had happened to his wife. She had tried her best to comfort him after they left but her attempts were in vain, as he took off, they found him a few hours later hanging from a tree out the back of the block. It was after that that Rayne was forced to leave, the house was auctioned and money put into trust for her, she sold her horse Jaya and decided to leave Australia, coming instead to a boarding school called Firefly Fields academy where she hoped she could have a fresh start and forget about her former life. She used the money from selling her childhood horse Jaya to purchase a new one, but would she be able to tame this new horse in her fragile state of mind, we will soon find out, for that chapter of her life is yet to be written.

ROLE-PLAYING EXAMPLE:
The taxi driver finally pulled off the highway and into a long driveway that had a great big old iron archway over the top reading Firefly Fields academy. It had been a long trip even after the way to long plane ride and the young girl sitting in the back seat was exhausted, she could think of nothing better then crawling up to her dorm and falling asleep. All she had with her was one suitcase, she did have more belonging but she had put them all in storage, they had been superficial reminders of a life she no longer had a claim on and that was an unwelcomed reminder, so all she had with her were clothes and riding gear. Her art supplies she could buy later, she had a few books with her, just a few classics she loved to immerse herself in when she was feeling down, which was a lot of the time now days. But she couldn’t let herself think of that, this was a fresh start, here no one knew her and they didn’t need to either she was here to study and become a better rider nothing else mattered.
The taxi driver steered the car easily down the drive following the twists and turns past trails, pastures and bushland. Finally some building loomed upon her and she got her first look at the academy, complete with stables. She was lucky she knew where to go and didn’t have to go searching for someone to show her the way, she had specifically requested a map of the campus prior to coming for that very reason. The taxi came to a stop and she handed over the cab fair before grabbing hold of her one piece of luggage and stepping out. It was a beautiful day and it was busy outside, the girl was of average height, her dark brown to black hair hung in waves around her pale face, her crystal blue eyes searching around as she got her bearings. She was dressed like a country girl, old torn at the knee jeans, and a basic black T.
The sun and fresh air felt good after the stuffiness of the aeroplane and the taxi but still she would rather be in her dorm away from the hustle and bustle of the main campus. She willed her feet to move forward and they obeyed as she made her way awkwardly through the throng of people, making her way toward the dorm rooms. She muttered apologies when she ran into people unintentionally and was glad when she finally reached the not so crowded corridor.
It only took a moment to find her dorm as it was number 001 and right at the front of the building, that would be a blessing and a curse, she thought to herself as she pushed the door open. A blessing as she wouldn’t have as far to walk to get to classes ect, but a curse as everyone would be walking past that door to get to their own dorms, peace and quiet might be hard to come bye.
It was obvious that someone was already settled in this dorm room, and she made her way to the side of the room where the bed was just the generic bed cover you might find in a plain hotel room, the walls undecorated and the desk clear. Pushing her one case under this bed, not bothered with unpacking her meagre belongings away she poked her head in the bathroom noticing that the door was ajar, nope no one in there. Obviously her roommate was out for the moment.
Not to sound nasty but she couldn’t help sighing slightly with relief a little at least she didn’t have to deal with the introductions right from the word go. Walking back over to the bed she collapsed onto it, head on the pillow staring at the ceiling. Her hand went unconsciously to the gold locket around her neck, the one token she had brought with her from her old life it had belonged to her mother. Her new horse wasn’t arriving until tomorrow, so she couldn’t even go for a ride to clear her mind.
Her thoughts drifted in and out of fucus as she dozed, she wasn’t sure how long she was out for or how often she woke up briefly, but she did know it wasn’t at all the restful nap she had been hoping for, and then she felt her pocket vibrating and pulled her phone out, Sasha flashed across the screen and she put the phone away she wasn’t in the mood for talking not ever to her best friend, not right know anyway, she would send her a message later and make up some excuse for not answering. Though she doubted whether Sasha would believe anything she came up with anyway, she was highly tuned to Rayne’s moods as Rayne was to hers, and she would know that Rayne wasn’t totally comfortable with all this.
But this had been the plan to come here, she had just done it sooner then planed in an attempt to escape small town gossip making everything worse, but she still wasn’t sure this was the right thing to do. Only time would tell right?
