Jasper grunted as he stood on the lower ridge of one of the many moutains that bordered Forks Forest. Tufts of grass broke through the rock, gasping for the light of the sun that today, as often as most days, was non-existant. In a foul mood, Jasper kicked at the nearest one with the toe of his boot until it dislodged and fell over the edge. Watching it until it hit the ground below, Jasper sniffed the air again tentatively. There were deer everywhere, but the stench of them was nauseating to Jasper for some reason. Too much of the same... he thought bitterly before turning away to head back to the house. His eyes were dull and almost black. He desperately needed to feed, yet he found it difficult to get his appetite.
Dragging his feet, Jasper readied himself to jump from the mountain side and weave through the trees when finally the scent of something different hit his nostrils. He breathed it in deeply, his mouth watering now. A mountain lion. Spinning on his heel - and almost losing his footing for all the excitement this hunt was bound to offer - Jasper tilted his head back a little and looked up to the higher crevices. Yes, the smell was definately coming from somewhere higher up the mountain side. Crouching down low, Jasper launched himself at the rock and pulled his way easily higher, looking almost feline himself. The ridge he was heading for was only a few feet away now and Jasper pulled his lips back over his teeth in preperation. Making almost no sound at all, and in carefully thought out, precise movements, Jasper had taken the lion down in a matter of minutes. He stood back, proud of himself as he looked at the half drained creature. The blood, not as sweet as that of a human, had a bitter after taste to it and Jasper grimaced without even realising. Wiping a line of blood from his lips with the side of his hand, he crouched down at the creature's side and began to drink again.

Billa walked into the forest. Since the last time he was there he had to admit. It was really nice. His attire was simple, no contacts, black boots, with his leaned tucked under the rims, and a graphic tee. Again, he didn’t plan on running into someone, and hopefully this time, if he does, it’s not a shifter. It was the last thing he needed, someone who can kill him with its smell. Well, not really kill but he often exaggerated.
As he neared the forest, he was hit with a rather unpleasant smell. Animal blood. A bit miffed, he wondered if it was another human or something. That is, until he picked up on the scent of another vampire. He smirked. Is this one of the famous Cullens he kept hearing about? The ones who drink animal blood to survive? He leaned against the tree, not moving any closer. The vampire was hungry, and a the middle of a hunt, it wasn’t a good idea to go and talk to him. Not yet anyways. Then again, he himself was a vamp, so he could always defend back. That would be too much work for him.
He jumped up and sat on a branch, if this vamp was curious enough, he would come and find Bill himself. If he doesn’t Bill could just find him. After all, he got the scent, all he has to do and track the vamp down. Shouldn’t be too hard.

Jasper had almost drained the poor beast he'd taken down when the new scent caught his attention. He pulled back, blood coating his lips and turning them a much brighter red than was natural. He stood slowly, his eyes still on the dead mountain lion as his fingers closed in on themselves. He was being watched, that much was for certain. Wiping the now dry blood from his mouth and licking it from his teeth, Jasper turned slowly and looked through the trees. Nothing. Without realising, he folded his arms across his chest and was soon rubbing his upper arms awkwardly.
"Hasn't anyone ever told you it's rude to stare?" He called out, his eyes scanning the trees and settling on the spot where Bill had perched. Jasper arched an eyebrow and tilted his head a little, noting that this was definately another vampire, "Is there something you wanted?" He asked calmly, despite the fact his voice was stiff. Although the stranger was still obscured by the overhanging branches of the other trees, Jasper kept his eyes on the spot where he was sitting, taking a few steps forward. He jumped from the mountain ridge, but stopped before he crossed over to the leaf covered floor of Forks Forest.

Billa dropped from the branch, although he was still holding on to the bark, causing him to hang upside down comically. “You’re one of the Cullens I keep hearing about?” he inquired, cocking his head to the side and jumping down from the tree, standing upright again. He leaned against the bark and crossed his arms. “And I never stared,” he corrected. “Merely waiting until you were done, I was actually looking at the sky, this place is interesting. It’s always cloudy, and rarely do I see any sun. I can see why you chose here,” He glanced up for a second then back down to the vampire, not failing to see the famous golden eyes of the other male.
“So it’s true then,” he muttered. “You actually drink blood from animal…” he trialed off in thought, then snapped himself back again. “Bill Schwarz,” he introduced. He never talked this much, but he was a German, and never actually heard of them until he came to America, mainly because he had his own problems to worry about. But after he found out, he was never really interested; even now that he met one of them. It was just curiosity about how animal blood could you a vampire satisfied, he himself would find it…unappetizing.

Jasper looked up at Billa, rolling his eyes as he hung from the branch. He looked through the trees for a moment, already feeling his patience lacking. This vampire seemed to be a joker of sorts and Jasper had very little tolerance for immaturity. Nevertheless, he jumped a little as Billa finally slid from the branch and took a small, cautious step backwards from him.
"Is that a statement or a question?" Jasper muttered as the other vampire finally addressed him. His face was set in a hard expression, his mouth a stern and unmoving line of vague disapproval, "Yes. I am..." He said a little louder and rather bluntly. He found it difficult to be as casual as Billa was coming across. He stood straight, his arms tight at his sides and his hands curled into fists. It was the complete opposite of Billa's posture. Jasper looked to the sky as Billa mentioned it and noted the hazy mist of light rain that was forming, "It's the easiest place for us to stay hidden," Jasper confirmed, his eyes narrowing a little more.
Billa's tone suggested some sort of intrigue that made Jasper feel even more awkward. He dropped his eyes to the floor on the mention of them and kicked his toes into the mulch, "It's the best option we have..." He muttered, barely audible. Looking up as Billa introduced himself, Jasper looked the vampire up and down properly for the first time. His eyes shone even in the dim light and Jasper couldn't help but think this somehow meant danger...
"Jasper Hale," He replied with little emotion, refusing to offer his hand.

Billa frowned, he was curious. “What do you mean by…best options? You’re a vampire…” he frowned. The latter was a lot older than he was, he could tell that much. He seemed more uptight and harder to loosen up, but that wasn’t what Bill wanted to know. He wanted to understand why someone could live off that…and be around humans. Surely wouldn’t that make it harder? You live off the other blood, but when you’re around a human, wouldn’t the smell be…harder to control?
Bill shook his head and looked at the sky. “If you drink the animal blood…” he muttered slowly. “Wouldn’t it be harder to be around a human? Because you are used to the smell of an animal, rather than a human?” he asked, a frown on his lips. Jazpurr was much older, who knows, he could learn something from him.
He peeled off some of the bark and toyed with it, looking at it from side to side. “I don’t get it...why did you choose this life?” he asked, referring to the fact that he became a ‘veggie’. “Why change?”

Jasper let out a small snort of disbelief. Was this vampire really questioning his lifestyle? They'd only just met! In his eyes, the German was coming across rude and a bit too much 'to the point'. "Vampire or not, I refuse to feed off humans..." Jasper stated bluntly, Billa still fixed in a cautious gaze. The other male was right, Jasper was uptight compared to younger vampires and a lot more difficult to unwind. He folded his arms across his chest now, hoping the the disapproval on his face wasn't easy to miss.
"I..." Jasper began in answer to the next question. It was a touchy subject, but the honest answer was yes. It was difficult, "Not for all of us. I seem to have a harder time than most..." He admitted with shame, lowering his eyes to the floor as if he wasn't worthy anymore, "It's not that I'm used to the smell of animal blood. You must have noticed how much more appetising the smell human blood is..." He muttered, his voice little more than a whisper. For a while, a silence seemed to fall. But the musings of Billa once again broke that and Jasper looked up, affronted.
"I honestly don't think it's much of your business why we choose to do this!" Jasper interrupted, barely letting the final question pass through Billa's lips before he spoke up, "And I don't suppose you've ever paused to think about the people you're killing have you?" He asked with disgust as his eyebrows pulled up high above his eyes.
