+++ wolf form link +++Avenal's breath was steady. In, out, in out, in out... as her large paw's padded against the clear path before her. A full brightly silver moon created an eerie glow as it cast it's light upon the ground. It was the star's that really lit up the sky though, splattered across the vast canvas of sky. It really made you think; just how insignificant the stars seem compared the the mind boggling vastness of everything. Thinking about it, the universe is made of billions upon billions upon mega zillions of elementary particles, all of which are smaller than the end of a pin. The end of a pin contains as many elementary particles as there have been hot dinners in the world throughout the entire history of the universe. The mind cannot comprehend the sheer massivemess of the universe or the utterly mind blowingly infinitesimmally smallness of the sub-microscopic cosmos.
So basically not a lot it makes much sense. Or did it? One major event, and then countless minor events occuring within it. Actually no, that was reality telly. My bad.
Anyway though, the night always suited Avenal best as she was just a little darker by nature. Don't get the wrong idea, she loved sunny day's as well. She admired the way it seemed to make everything it touched just a little bit brighter. Se loved the rain equally as much. Sometimes it spoilt her fun but despite that, Avenal liked the rain; summer storms frightened and exhilarated her in equal measure. But he know's when rain and sun come together, there will be rainbows.
She was a shapeshifter, yet she was different from the others for a couple of reasons. Reason munber one) She was only half shapeshifter. Avenal's mother had grown up on the reservation, learning all about the stories of shapeshifters, and of vampires, and then passed on that information to Avenal. Her father had been a vampire; how the two got along well enough to have Avenal was beyond her, but they seemed to have done alright, for a little while anyway. Reason number two) She was a half-breed wolf as well - what she was crossed with she wasn't sure, but she was fairly possitive she shifted this way because of her mixed background.
In wolf form, Avenal was fairly lanky-looking, with coarse ink and grey fur covering most of her body. Her long muzzle, underbelly, paws and ring's around her eyes were ivory-white. Her eyes themselves were a light brown, just as they were when in her human form, though even then they had a tendancy to turn a few shade's darker when she was hungry. Her diet did consist of human food, but she never drank from their blood. That was one trait she'd inherited from her mother, as well as the ability to transform. Her looks, however, she inherited from her father. In her jaw's, she held a long, viscose u-neck lightweight jersey t-shirt dress with dropped shoulders, an abstract building print & metallic crests.
Even before his transformation, the guy was said to have been quite beautiful. Her father's face was beautiful: it had character. One long scar ran from his temple to the corner of his mouth, and he wasn’t shy about it. His sandy blonde hair was cut so short that there was no chance of anything detracting from the beauty of that jagged line. The man had many scars, and they all screamed dangerous. His eye's were crimson, from a vampiric life of feeding off of human's, with an almond-shaped face and full lips.
In human form Avenal has long dirty blonde hair with highlights that shine in the sun. She usually leave's it down, not bothering to style it very often, so that it frames her large almond-shaped face. Her eyes are two large deep shade's of hazel. She was a girl of average height, and her figure is nice and trim, in part due to her pervious work as a waitress. Avenal wears silver nail polish and is inclined to rebel against the stereotype associated with a girl who once attended a Catholic School. The moment school had finished for the day, she was outside with her blazer off.
She has large hazel eyes that seem to 'pop put', a small nose, and sunkissed skin. She often looks worried, or uncomfortable, especially when stuck in social situations. Though once more familiar with someone, you'll sometimes catch a sneaky peek and one of her smiles. It's the sort that makes her eyes, which are such a dark brown overall, look so vibrant and alive - like there's a little light on behind them. She doesn't really like to wear too much make-up, though she will wear some light eyeshadow and lipgless every once in a while.
The forest was thick, abounding in trees and shrubs. The path that Avenal was currently loping down, was clear, following a steady course towards the La Push cliffs. She was unsure why she was out here, after all, Avenal hated the water. Really hated it. It had always scared her. But she had somehow felt compelled to come out here. Even through her silent fear, she had left the safety of her own little home, to venture out into the forest and confront the rocky cliff face, and dark crashing waves rumbling underneath. The silvery moon creating a shimmering glow upon the frigid waters.
While Avenal walked, her large brown eyes swept over her surroundings, looked vibrant and alive - like there was a little light on behind them as she looked past the shadow's and through the tree lines. Light filtered down from the skies, creating a dim, yet beautiful glow about her surroundings. It was a sight that would make anyone happy, or at least feel at peace. though she wasn't smiling. Avenal didn't smile when she didn’t need to. She doesn’t see the point. So whens he smiles, you know she means it.
A scent from the crisp oceans breeze carried along, remaining in the air around her as Avenal's form broke through the forest crepescule - which had stopped rather abruptly - and padded along until she was very close to the cliff's. She could practically taste the salt on her tongue. Sitting on her haunches, Avenal peered into the black watery depths and swallowed audibly, her teeth shutting down a little harder against the small dress in her powerful jaws.
Mingling with the fresh scent of salt, and soil in the air, Avenal could also detect another smell... animal, yet human if that made any sence at all. No? Well perhap's you had to be a shapeshifter to understand. From the aroma alone, Avenal could tell that the source must've been another shapeshifter, a female as well. Her heart began to thump a little faster. Why this was, Avenal wasn't certain. Perhap's it was because Avenal was very choosy about who she spoke to, or the fact that she never really spoke at all; usually she was on her own, simply sitting or laying on her bed and reading, or listening to music with her headphones on and music blaring so loud her neighbours could still have heard every screaming lyric. Avenal was into allot of extreme metal, you see; Cradle Of Filth mostly, but she was a fan of Canibal Corpse as well. It wasn't really a cradle of filth. That would've just been horrible. Avenal was very open minded, but choosy about who she talks to; she doesn't mind what you look like, or how you dress, you just need to be able to hold a good conversation with her.
Allot of people would describe her as unflappable, whilst she would personally describe herself as "cheerful". Despite Avenal's gloomy front she is a very sweet girl, a little shy, and a young woman of not many words. She may come off as being a bitch at times, but often proves to be much more mundane.
A little unsure of what to do with herself now, Avenal took a couple of step's backwards and dropped the dress on the ground, before allowing a visible ripple of fur to cross along her slender bodice. She wasn't sure why she felt compelled to shift back into her human form. Perhap's it had something to do with the fact that whilst in their wolf form, the pack members could "hear" each others thoughts, no matter how far away they were from each other. Perhaps this one had already read her mind? She certainly did not appear to pose any threat. If she had, Avenal would have probably known about it by now. Still... her fur began to vibrate violently and poof! In a single eyeblink, it was all gone, leaving a now-human Avenal crouched on the cliff-face, nude, with the dress at her feet.
With a swift movement, Avenal pulled the jersey t-shirt dress over her head and adjusted it hastily, raising a pair of underwear over her slender hips, before she spun around on her heel to face the shifting shadow's before her as the figure loped into view. She tilted her head upwards as she squinted to focus on the approaching figure, realizing that it was in fact a female shifter, with a pure white pelt and deep blue eyes. Her expression relaxed as she realised who it must be. "Alice, right? I'm Avenal." Avenal ventured, tilting her head in a curious gesture, as the wave's continued to crash and flow in the background.IT STANDS - complete WEARING - link (When she's in human form) WORD COUNT - one thousand six hundred and fourty two

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/i] She turned her back on the salty sea mist from the moon lit waves far below, with a huff of a sigh. The cliffs jutted out slightly from the dense forest, making it simple and easy to slip silently in and out of the trees. She moved forward; the woods thick and overgrown with trees, bushes, weeds, and any other foliage known to man kind. As if in a trance Alice followed a clear worn path, formed by years of travel, determined to some reason to follow it was many other before her. Just then a familiar scent wafted forward, lingering in the breeze and crossing her path. So as for her to part her jaws slightly and allow the new smell to wash over her. Alice recognized it immediately as a shape-shifter, but this whole reserve stank of wolf, so who knows her senses could be fooling her. Besides, she didn't even know the names to half the pack, let alone each unique smell. And even though while in wolf form you shared the pack's common mind, Alice had almost mastered how to block out others thoughts and isolate her own. She wanted to fit in more then ever, though no matter how much she tried to bond with the pack the more they pushed her away. So she simply gave up and just kept to herself, a lone wolf in a pack, doesn't that sound strange. Doesn't it feel foreign and odd as the words roll over your tongue? If it wasn't for her family, having always been close to the Blacks, she would now probably, if it was up to her, not belong to a pack. Her brother however, who had always loved pack life and being around others who were considered like a second family. He would have, she guessed, run off to find a pack who invited him in with open arms. The closest person to Alice in her life at the time was her brother, although it used to be her mother, you can't really count the dead. But even her brother, who for so long been her best friend, couldn't come close to match what it was like to have a real friend. Even without the death of her mother, Alice just could never seem to fit in anywhere. Never was there that connection between people, so many had experienced and on top of all that is the imprinting issue. Boys never seemed to take a fancy to Alice or see her as attractive, which didn't surprise her. She was shy, timid, clumsy and though her brother had always commented on how pretty she was, with little confidence it was hard to show off your said beauty. Having the pack accept her was probably going to be the least likely thing to happen. She was so different, physically and mentally. Being small, skinny and not by all means muscular, Alice looked so fragile and breakable compared to the rest. The majority of the shape-shifters were big, strong and did good with fighting, running and endurance. With her dainty stature Alice prided herself in her speed, agility and extremely acute senses. Although no one really paid attention to that stuff, all that mattered was if you have enough muscle. Skin color was another major difference, among the pack, she felt like a lone drop of milk in a sea of almonds. Never the less, fitting in was just one of those pointless dreams, Alice had given up on long ago. Tasting the air again the original smell mingled and mixed with a new scent, though this one she could identify. It belonged to a hybrid female, though a name overlooked her. What was this vampire wolf doing out here at this time of night? Her quarry was just slightly east to where she stood, off to her right side. Alice began walking in the direction of the scent, partially because she was lonely… and… her pulse quickened; few wolves came over near the cliffs at night due to the scary fact of falling to a painful death… let alone be interested in talking to her, Alice, Ali, Esther, the shy girl, the different girl. She probably didn’t even know her name. Narrowing her eyes slightly, she continued forward all forms of loneliness gone, to be replaced by a timid shy attitude. The smell grew stronger, and she slowed her pace, treading across the rocky terrain. "Alice, right? I'm Avenal." The girl said, as the shadows pulled away from the figure, tilting her head in a curious gesture. Alice opened her mouth to reply a hasty explanation, but stopped short remembering that she couldn’t talk to them while in wolf form. Her left back leg carried her clothes, tied together around her furry knee. Looking back up at her company, she’d hope Avenal would understood and not to take it as running away, when she retreated silently behind the shelter of a tree. +++ wolf form link +++Avenal shot Alice a quizzical look, not bothering to mask her puzzlement as the shapeshifter in wolf form withdrew back into the darkness of the forest. Why did she... ooh! Of course Avenal should've beared in mind that whilst shapeshifters could communicate both through mind and word's, they had to both or all be in the same form to do so properly. If that realisation hadn't occured so quickly, Avenal surely would have assumed that it had been because of her that the white wolf had retreated so quickly. She just seemed to have that effect on people, she supposed, and it left her standing there, letting the uneasiness that lingered in the air fill her.
What was it about Avenal that left people so... I dono, cold? She certainly looked different from the other shapeshifters. Complete polar opposite's in fact. The other shapeshifters were way taller, all male and testosterone of course, and dark skin that rippled with muscles. Avenal had always been a very tall girl, pale, slender with an almond shaped face and large brown orbs. Then again, so did this Alice girl. Perhap's they weren't so different. Breakable looking, like porcelaine dolls. Both seemed to be able to keep well enough alone, but both seemed to crave at least a little company. Why else would the duo be out here in the first place?
A crisp wind billowed through Avenal's jersey t-shirt dress, and tangling through her hair, giving her long golden locks a wisp effect around her almond-shaped face. She didn't shiver though, she hardly ever noticed the cold anymore. Avenal's body temperature did not run as high as the other shapeshifters, though she was certain that if a doctor were to take her temperature, she'd be hospitalised and thrown into a bathtub of ice to cool her down. Ice. She hated ice as well. Ever since she was a little girl, Avenal had had a fear of water. Rain never bothered her, or taking a bath. It was when she knew that the water was deep, or she could not see through it's murky surfaces that it began to make her anxious.
Another reason why it was strange that here she stood, clad only in a dress and underwear, not too far from the edge of the La Push cliffs, listening to the churning and crashing waves benieth her. Knowing that it was dark, knowing that it was deep, and knowing that apart from Alice being present, albeit supposedly changing behind one of the trees, she was completely alone. An afterthought as she stood there, still facing the forest where Alice had slunk off into, Avenal realised that perhaps the white wolf would want some privacy. "I um," she decided to speak up again, as she turned around to give Alice some room to do her thing. She was facing the moon again, able to visibly see it's reflectiom rippling on the water's surface beneath the cliffs. It's silvery light creating a luminescent effect on Avenal's skin. Avenal felt her heart swell with something a little more powerful that the uneasiness that had lingered before - anticipation, daring, dread, curiosity all at once and she knew that it must've had something to do with the fullness of the moon. She always felt a little like this when the moon was at it's fullest. Would it be too clique if she were to howl up at it?
Avenal wasn't sure what to say. She was never really cornered into these sort of social situations. Socialising in general often left Avenal quite uncomfortable. It was hard to deal with; trying to figure out what to say, how to say it, if it might offend someone, when to say something, and basically how to keep a conversation flowing in general. What was she meant to say right now? "So... you uh, keep to yourself a bit don't you?" She didn't face Alice's direction as she spoke, instead she continued to look up at the moon, as if she were talking to it instead. It kind of made her feel a little more compfortable to pretend she was talking to the moon, as crazy as that sounded. The moon was something she was familiar with, something everyone was familiar with. Eye's instictually darted to the side to view her peripheral vision a little better, feeling a little uncomforable. Though she wasn't sure exactly why anymore.IT STANDS - completeWEARING - link (When she's in human form)WORD COUNT - seven hundred and ninety five
