It must a been a place so dark, couldn't feel the light

Emily was starting to get used to the familiar sound of the rain pounding on the roof of the small house in Forks Washington. Emily was beginning to enjoy it though, the fresh crisp air felt good on her tired body and she found her self spending a lot of time sitting in the cold rain. She knew that it was bad for her since she had a screwed up immune system because of the cancer but she figured if she was all ready sick it couldn't get much worse. She hated being sick and having to be in the hospital all the time. She was pale and she had lost so much weight that she felt like she was dying all ready. She covered her tired dark eyes with make up and covered everything else up. She was gentle with her hair because she knew that it would fall out soon and as she looked in the mirror she felt her self break down and she started crying. Feeling weak wasn't really a nice feeling and she hated it more then anything.
She glanced down at her arms and saw some of the scars that lined up her arms. Her doctor had told her to find a good out let for her depression since the medication she was on would make it worse but she was certain he didn't mean hurting her self. But for some reason it made her feel better, it reminded her that she was actually alive and not dead yet. When she heard foot steps coming down the hall way she tugged her sleeves back over her arms and hugged them to her self. He asked if she was ok and she nodded and hugged her uncle tight. She liked living with him a lot. He let her have parties and he let her have as much fun as she wanted which was what she really needed but she felt like being alone at the moment. She asked if she could stay at the cabin by the lake and he agreed telling her to be careful. She packed some clothes and her guitar and headed off. She blared the radio on the way there which also made her feel better, music could be an amazing thing. When she heard one of her songs on the radio she felt her cheeks flush and she wished that she could get back to that personality. She knew she had a bit of it buried deep down but she was just piling problem on top of problem keeping everything bottled up.
When she pulled up to the cabin on the lake she was glad to see that the lake was totally empty because of the freezing rain and the fact that there had been a lot of beer sitings in the surrounding forest area so not many people were willing to chance it. After settling in she found a bottle of whisky and put on a jacket. She wanted to sit in the rain for a while so she walked to the edge of the lake and shivered as a breeze kicked up flicking the cold wet rain around her pale cheeks and her black curls hung drenched and straight and she assumed she probably looked like a drowned rat or something. She took a swig of whiskey cringing as it burnt down her throat and she closed her eyes laying back taking another swig of the drink. Her life had become filled with parties drinking and drugs to try and make her self feel better. None of it was working but if it helped her pretend then she was all for it. She started to hum to her self as she thought about her doctor wanting to start a new treatment of radiation or something else that was scary sounding. She felt her heart sink into her chest wondering how much longer she would be able to hold it all together.
